A couple weeks ago I posted this but was not able to tell you what the good news was. Here it is: As of today, I’m a regular contributing columnist to MSNBC. Admittedly, I’ve already been writing columns for MSNBC for a few months now. The big difference now is that I’ll be getting paid. My glee has less to do with the money (which is nice, don’t get me wrong) than with the milestone: I’m now a columnist for a national network. I suppose this is like being a TV pundit for USA Today, but I’ll take the win.

A political consultant, writer and family man, Jason Stanford writes columns for MSNBC and the Austin American-Statesman and is nationally syndicated by Cagle Cartoons. He's also a political analyst for KTBC and coauthored "Adios Mofo: Why Rick Perry will make America miss George W. Bush."

Congratulations. Very good news.
